Kassiopi Travel Guide CORFU - Where to stay in KASSIOPI Corfu ...

Kassiopi has one of the prettiest little harbours in Corfu. It was a thriving settlement in Roman times, then a quiet fishing village but now it's grown into a sizable resort with lots of tourist appeal. This part of the Corfu coast is more rugged and less built-up than further south, so it appeals to people who want to get an authentic taste of the island. There is plenty of opportunity to explore the area around Kassiopi by going inland into the hills. Kassiopi's horse-shoe shaped harbour is still home to local fisherman who bring in their daily haul which gives the resort plenty of character and colour. There is plenty to do in Kassiopi for holidaymakers with swimming and water sports by day and good tavernas and lively bars by night

The charming village of Kassiopi is set in a pretty location. It is backed by Mount Pantokrator, which is strewn with flowers in the spring, and boasts a picture-postcard harbour flanked by shingle coves and pebbly beaches. Despite recent tourist development, it retains all the atmosphere of a picturesque fishing village. Located approximately 36km north of Corfu town and the airport, the resort has excellent amenities and really does have something for everyone. Most of the beaches in Kassiopi are pebbly, small and hidden away in stunning secluded spots. There are two larger beaches further north - Kalamionas and Imerolia - these have various watersports on offer. Kassiopi is still a working fishing port, so be sure to sample some fresh fish during your stay. There is a wide array of eateries to chose from.
Once a quiet fishing village, Kassiopi has developed into a lively, bustling resort that still manages to retain its original charm and friendly atmosphere. A number of pebbly coves can be reached by paths across the headland and a large shingle bay offers a choice of watersports. Clustered with cafes, bars, restaurants and tavernas, the pretty fishing harbour is the ideal place to have dinner before sampling the lively nightlife.
