Paleokastritsa Travel Guide CORFU - Where to stay in PALEOKASTRITSA Corfu ...

One of the best known attractions of Corfu, this village has developed along a hilly road on the edge of the mountain, revealing 5 stunning pebbly bays along the way. The dramatic cliffs mostly covered by cypress and olive trees are stunning. Two of the most impressive attractions of the island are only a few minutes away, Aggelokastro and Paleokastritsa’s monastery. This location is best suited to people who wish to walk or explore some of the most dramatic parts of the island. Paleokastrista is a well organised resort so you can do a range of things here like watersports & boat trips. The resort will offer you mixed nightlife, ranging from romantic quiet bars on the water’s edge to disco bars open until the early hours. Due to the mountainous nature of the village most of the accommodation here does not have swimming pools and is not suitable for the less mobile. Paleokastritsa area gets crowded with day-trippers, especially in July & August

Guide to Paleokastritsa holidays
On an island renowned for its outstanding scenery, Paleokastritsa stands unrivalled as Corfu's finest beauty spot. It boasts five stunning bays, as well as a pretty monastery perched high on the clifftop. Snorkelling and diving from the rocks into the clear waters is a real pleasure. There are water-taxis available to the vast beach at Aghios Georgios. Spend your evenings in the tavernas and good selection of bars or treat yourself by dining at the smattering of more expensive restaurants.
Quality seafood is widely available. Buses do run to Corfu town but the service can be erratic. Exchange facilities are available, and credit cards are widely accepted. Each of Paleokastrista's five bays is made up of a shingle beach that is lapped by crystal clear blue-green waters. Sun-loungers and watersports equipment can be hired on the beach. There are a fantastic range of eateries in this resort from the inexpensive tavernas to a number of expensive restaurants. Locally-caught lobster is the speciality and even though the local drinks, such as Metaxa and Ouzo, are not as sophisticated, they are certainly enjoyable.
If you can make it beyond the local tavernas there are a number of bars and nightclubs, where you will find draught beer, wine and possibly a cocktail menu. Shopping in Paleokastritsa is limited to a few minimarkets and tourist shops. However if you venture up to the old monastery on the edge of the bay you will be pleasantly surprised by the many hand crafted gifts in its little souvenir shop.
